Same, Same But Different
Interesting semester ahead. I’m super stoked for this term, not because I have any special plans, but because I’m genuinely looking forward to things in a way I haven’t before. I’m also taking some pretty interesting and very different classes. It’s funny: I’m taking Computer Architecture and Design and also Appreciation of the Arts.
My first thought was that these classes couldn’t be more different, but after a few things I’ve seen over the summer, plus some books I’ve been reading and conversations I’ve had, I’m starting to rethink that. I don’t actually think they’re as far apart as they seem. I’m going to make it a point to share more on that later.
And what’s a “tech blog” without mentioning Artificial Intelligence? I came across this quote from Alfred North Whiteheadwho wrote it in 1911 (shocking amIright?) in my textbook for Computer Organization and Design, and it says:
“Civilization advances by extending the number of important operations which we can perform without thinking about them.”
I found it really interesting, for real. Feel free to share your thoughts via email or LinkedIn chat!
